Last week, Cutting Edge Productions have formally introduced to the Media and bloggers the animated movie's theme Song titled "Lipad". Lipad is an inspirational and high spirited song composed by the movie's Producer and Musical Director, Mr. Jessie Lasaten with the words of the movie's head writer Temy Abad Jr. The song is first introduced to public a few months ago through a new band named Roots of Nature giving it a more tribal and rock flavor. But since the real emotions that the song want to convey is to inspire the audience to dream and fantasize, the producer wants to have another version that will be performed on a very solemn but energetic tone. So they picked a performer who is very popular in this genre. And she is none other than Miss Lea Salonga. Being popular on broadway and stage musicals such as Miss Saigon and Cinderella and Disney animated films like Aladdin and Mulan, Lea is a living epitome of a voice that will relive an animated inspired theme song.

The song ‘Lipad,’ when looked at and listened to on its most basic level, is a song of inspiration. The main character is encouraged to overcome his fears for a greater good. However, on a deeper level, it's a song of inspiration to everyone that hears the song: to our animators and artists to fly high and reach their dreams, to our people to dream big and achieve their goals, and to anyone that has any fear that they perhaps might be unable to make their lives better, to ‘dream it, and make it happen.’ ‘Basta't kaya mong isipin, kaya mong gawin’ is one line from the song, and I believe that anyone can make their dreams comes true, starting with a wish.
-Lea Salonga
None better to sing than Lea then – someone who has had many of her dreams come true and still continues to fly high! Lea's interpretation is just how we've imagined it would be for the first flying scene of two main characters Bubuy and Anna. It's perfect and inspiring! And to top it all, Cutting Edge hired Lea's own brother, the Musical Genius Gerard Salonga and the ensemble of musicians from FILharmoniKA to give life to the epic masterpiece.
-Jessie Lasaten
Cutting Edge is indeed very happy for what is the outcome of the piece. Every word and every note gives justice to the song and it will greatly help the movie to enhance every scenes' emotions and moods. And may the movie remind everyone of us, even the grownups that we still have the right to dream and believe that fantasies come true.
Dayo is Cutting Edge Productions official entry in the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival in December 25, 2008 and directed by Robert Quilao.

Lipad
performed by: Lea Salonga
composed by: Jessie Lasaten
words by: Temy Abad Jr.
Lipad, lipad, kaya mong lumipad
Lipad, lipad, ano man ang iyong hangad
Lipad, lipad, kaya mong lumipad
Basta’t kaya mong isipin, kaya mong gawin
Kalimutan ang kaba, tayo’y sama sama
Maaabot mo din ang pangarap mo
Pagkat sa puso mo, kayang-kaya mo
Lipad, lipad, kaya mong lumipad
Lipad, lipad, ano man ang iyong hangad
Lipad, lipad, kaya mong lumipad
Pagkat sa puso mo ay kayang-kaya mo
Lipad, lipad, kaya mong lumipad
Lipad, lipad, ano man ang iyong hangad
Lipad, lipad, kaya mong lumipad
Lipad, lipad…
Kaya mong lumipad….
