The whole world stopped and took the time to monitor this year's Oscars Awards. In fact, even us here in the Philippines, the fact that it is shown here in the morning and we are all in our respective work, we still can't resist to watch it. And all I can say is this Oscars is the most prestigious and entertaining presentation of the said award giving body.
This year's Oscars is held in Kodak Theater in Los Angeles California. Attended by numerous celebrities from the industry. Baz Luhrman (Moulin Rouge! and Australia) directed the whole awarding ceremony teamed up with Hugh Jackman as the master of the ceremony. One of the greatest highlight of the awards night is Hugh Jackman's performance of Movie Musical Medley together with Beyonce Knowles (Dreamgirls), Zac Efron (Hairspray), Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical), Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper (both from Mamma Mia).
Among the movies nominated, Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire bagged the most number of award which is 8 awards all in all including best Motion Picture and Best Director for Boyle. On the other hand, Kate Winslet won the Best Actress award for her performance in the Reader and Sean Penn won Best Actor for his portrayal in Milk. And just like what everybody expect, the late Heath Ledger won the trophy of Best Supporting Actor on his portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight.
