Few days are left till the most anticipated comeback of the most well loved musical on Broadway history, Rent on Manila.  But before you witness this magnificent Rock Musical, let me have the liberty to introduce the tenants, bohemians and lovers of Alphabet City.




Mark Cohen (Fredison Lo) is an independent film maker.  He is a long time friend to Collins and Roger.  The three of them used to lived together in one pad where they struggle to pay Rent.  Mark is also Maureen's ex-boyfriend.  Maureen left Mark long time ago for a woman lover named Joanne.  Mark Cohen is described as a naive individual.  Emotionally and mentally scarred because of what Maureen did to him.  But despite Mark's weakness, he remains very caring to his friends and stands for what he believe in.


Roger Davis (Gian Magdangal) is once a famous Rock star but after her girlfriend learned that both of them had HIV, she commits suicide that left a big and devastating impact to Roger's career that eventually pulls him down.  Now Roger is living with Collins and Mark as a struggling musician with no permanent work.  One day he met a girl named Mimi.  It was a Love at first sight for both of them.  But because Roger is still thriving to his past he refuses to entertain the feelings and avoids her all the time.


Tom Collins (OJ Mariano) is a teacher, anarchist and computer genius.  He is a homosexual HIV positive that falls in love with a fellow HIV positive Angel Schunard.  Collins is known for his peaceful but playful nature.  He dreams of settling down on Sta. Fe where he wants to establish a restaurant with Angel.  He is just tired of the city life and wants a very quiet environment to live in.


Benjamin Coffin III (Noel Rayos) or "Benny" for his ex house mates Roger, Mark and Collins.  He left their pad after marrying the daughter of their landlord.  Now, the world just turned upside down for Benny for now he is the one who collects the Rent of the whole building.


Angel Dumott Schunard (Job Bautista) is a free spirited drag queen of Manhattan that falls in love with Collins.  Angel is an excellent dancer and percussionist.  He uses these talents to earn money for his everyday living.  Angel is considered as the heart of the show for all the emotions on the musical centers on him.


Maureen Johnson (Carla Guevara-Laforteza) is a performance artist and rebel chick.  She is dating Mark before until she left him for another woman.  Maureen uses her talent to express her beliefs and feelings especially for the people like Benny and his Wife's family.  Maureen got a very unique personality for she got this strong spunk of a man while at the same time she sizzles as New York's top seductress.


Mimi Marquez (Nicole  Laurel Asensio) works at the Cat Scratch Club as an exotic dancer.  She lives alone on  the same building where Roger and his friends also live.  Mimi falls in Love with Roger while the later avoids her because of personal demons.  Mimi is a Heroin dependent but fights her battle against drug addiction for the sake of her new found Love.
