Teendom’s latest action hero Logan Lerman who plays the titular character in the action-adventure “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief” continues to electrify movie viewers as the movie reached 70 million in the Philippines on its first two weeks of release.



Still showing in theaters, “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief” introduces a new kind of teen hero whose powers was derived from the gods and goddesses of Greek mythology. Percy (Logan) is a demigod, half-human and half-god who is the son of the god of the seas, Poseidon. A teenager who seemed to be heading nowhere suddenly discovers that the survival of civilization rests on his shoulders. At first this unlikely hero seems ill equipped to deal with the daunting challenges that lay ahead, including minotaurs and wrathful Greek gods. But this is in fact no ordinary boy. Percy has inherited special powers that gradually become apparent. When the powerful lightning rod belonging to Zeus goes missing and Percy seems to be the obvious suspect, his life changes irreversibly and he embarks on an extraordinary quest. Training for the battles ahead at Camp Half Blood (run by Chrion the Centaur) played by Pierce Brosnan, he meets friends who have similar genetic backgrounds and they set out on their journey together.


Now on its 3rd week in cinemas across the Phils., “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief” is a 20th Century Fox film distributed by Warner Bros.
