Looney Tunes Theatrical Shorts Review
Earlier this month, Warner Bros. announced that Looney Tunes will soon come back on TV screens with an all new improved series of course starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and the rest of the Looney Gang. To jump start the series, 3 Looney Tunes shorts are set to premiere on cinemas accompanying 3 Warner bros. films.
Starting with Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore that opened in the Philippines last August 18th, an all new adventure speeds up to another chase when the glutton, Wile E. Cayote devices plans to catch the speedster Roadrunner. With the aid of state-of-the-art ACME gadgets the Cayote's plans are all packed but just as always he ended up being beaten himself.
Material wise, the Cayote-Roadrunner short is faithful to the classic. Though sometimes Cayote's methods became repetitive, somehow audience never get tired on watching this sequences and I admit, it becomes more funnier every time you watch it over and over again. The Cayote-Roadrunner show is I believe the funniest segment of Looney Toons series that is why I believe that Warner bros. did a good decision to use them as companion shorts for their upcoming films.
Using 3D animation as the new medium to the series didn't spoil the fun and will eventually give the animators thousands of possibilities that they can't do before with traditional animation and it enhances the experience if you see it with 3D glasses.
Catch the next installments of these short this coming September 24th on the premiere of Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga'Hoole and on January 2011 on the premiere of Yogi Bear 3D. And also watch out for the return of Looney Tunes on TV very very soon.
Looney Tunes Shorts is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
