Several days ago, friends are sending me some links about this suppose to be Pokemon Live Action film trailer. I got a link on facebook and saw a bootleg version of the trailer. The video is blurred and out of focus. But the video is pretty interesting because you can see some familiar faces specially the pocket monsters themselves. But since the video is not that good and internet can't say anything about it, I ignored it.
Then days past the trailer resurfaced but now with the official copy. First impression? A kid title rehashed to a much darker version. It seems that everyone is still riding the Nolan bandwagon. And it appears this is not a real movie but just a fan fiction short created by the actors themselves, Kial Natale (Director and as Brock) and Lee Majdoub (Executive Producer and as Ash Ketchum).
Synopsis:
Celadon City hasn't been the same since the Gyms closed down. Pokémon fighting has gone underground, and the sport has gotten a taste for blood. Ash, Misty, and Brock have been forced deep into the city's seedy underbelly to keep training, but the Pokémon aren't the only ones in danger. Now, Ash must choose to either become a master in the grim world of illegal pokémon fighting, or make a desperate stand to free them all from the criminal grip of Rocket Industries.
Production wise, this trailer looks better than I expect from a fan made material. The special effects and CGI Pokemons are outstanding. Witty lines from the shows gave the nostalgic feel for the original series and I think it is about time to bring this anime in to life.
