After the successful commercial run exactly a year ago, CTE Productions is bringing back Rob Becker's hit comedy show Defending the Caveman due to insistent public demand.
About the Show: Defending the Caveman is a monologue and stand-up comedy in one that talks about cultural and (pseudo)historical aspect of gender conflict and differences written by Rob Becker. It has been a Broadway hit because of its insightful and funny way of exploring how men and women relate to one another that brought it to 30 countries and translated to 16 different languages.
Saw the show last year and it is really hilarious. The show stars the talented Joel Trinidad (KAOS, Breakups and Breakdowns) as the Caveman. Being one of the most well received actor in the local theater (not to mention that he is also a director and writer), I'm already expecting that he will definitely rock Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium.
Due to the gender sensitivity issues of the show, CTE Productions commissioned 2 directors (1 male and 1 female) to direct the show. Fresh from his performance in Repertory Philippines' The 39 Steps, Michael Williams is again coming back on the director's chair. Joining him is Cathy Azanza-Dy who previously got an award in US for "Creative License" short film in Brooklyn Film Race 2010. The 2 directors provides the unique perspective between the genders making sure that the execution will be well balanced for both sides.
I highly recommend this show to everyone specially for couples (married or not). Learning about the opposite sex can never be as funnier as this.
Defending the Caveman goes back on stage with 6 shows on May 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2011 at 8pm in Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza Makati.
