20th Century Fox and WETA Digital released some interesting concept artworks for Rise of the Planet of the Apes while the live streaming is running earlier this morning. See the artworks after the jump.
Just like Joe Litteri and Dan Lemmon (WETA Digital) mention on the interview, they are most likely concentrating on a more organic apes rather than making them human like.
For instance, Ceasar who will be played by Andy Serkis is a Chimpanzee. Andy undergoes extreme workout and training to be able to perform how Chimpanzees move. According to him he spends a lot of time watching video and photo references of monkeys to perfect his performance as Ceasar.
The first trailer is set to premiere tomorrow. No time is mentioned but let's assume that they will release it the same time when the live streaming starts. But before that, above is a short preview for the trailer. Starring James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, David Oyelowo, Andy Serkis and a lot more. Directed by Rupert Wyatt, coming on all theaters worldwide on August 5, 2011 from 20th Century Fox.

SWEET! This looks interesting. I'd like to see a sequel that actually shows the war and how we lost, and then we can go into the territory of the old films and TV show. Oh and the siren beat was used in the "Inception" trailer too. This one seems a little different though as it's not as pronounced and actually just sounds like part of the music as opposed to an additional sound effect.
It’s still a few months away so I’m expecting the effects to get much better and Weta have never let me down on that aspect. As for the story....it’s too early to tell but it looks more like an outbreak movie than Planet of the Apes. The title was only changed very recently and it sucks...what was wrong with Rise Of The Apes??! Anyway I’m still interested to see how it turns out.
