Being one of the most well loved manga/anime series in the 90's known outside Japan as Samurai X, Runrouni Kenshin is now coming back but this time not as a cartoon but as live action film that will grace the cinemas in Japan next year. I know that back then I don't really follow the series religiously but I can still remember how my high school friends stay up all night just watching it even though we don't really fully understand it.
But I guess I have my second chance now to revisit this masterpiece with this new film from Warner Bros. Pictures Japan, directed by Keishi Otomo (Ryomaden) and starring Takero Satoh (Kamen Rider Den-O) as Himura Kenshin. Below are some preliminary photos and the very first teaser trailer.

And here is the much anticipated teaser trailer. Prepare yourself for the exciting first look:
That is how you do a live action movie. I'm still cringing now whenever I remember such Live action movies created by Hollywood like Tekken and Dragonball Evolution. Why did Hollywood keep on insisting to touch materials they are not suppose to touch? After years of failed Japanese manga, anime or videogame movie adaptations, I guess it is time for US to step back and let our Japanese brothers do their Kung-fu.
Warner Bros. please do bring Rurouni Kenshin in US (and other english speaking countries). We need it very badly. Unless you guys want us to once again commit piracy. Love - concern citizen.
