Basically the movie will continue where the first movie drops off. Kick-Ass 2 is mostly about how Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz) affected most private citizens and influenced them to take a stand and become mask vigilantes. Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) will also come back but now he is back as a new Villain out for revenge. Can Kick-Ass and Hit Girl face these new Nemesis or will they fail this time?
The problem with reading the source material, I can't help but feel a little unsatisfied with the trailer. I know it is just the first trailer so I'm just saying that it is not enough to make me excited. The fact that the trailer is already a Red Band version, I feel so underwhelmed with what it showed to us. maybe on future trailers, they can show a little more that can tickle my interest.
And lastly, I'm not really sure what to feel about a fully grown Hit Girl. She is cool back then when she is still young. In Kick-Ass 2 comic, she IS still young. I really find it weird to see her fully grown on the film version. It actually kills the excitement. But we can't really do anything about it. As if we can stop Chloe's growth. Might as well give it a try.
Kick-Ass 2 is set to premiere on August 16, 2013 in US from Universal Pictures. Release dates in local cinemas will be announced soon through SOLAR UIP.
