and Leven Rambin as Clarisse, demigod daughter of Ares.

Stanley Tucci joins the cast as Dionysys, Camp Half Blood's Director

Based on the bestselling “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” book series written by Rick Riordan, “The Sea of Monsters” reunites Percy (Lerman) and Annabeth (Daddario) at Camp Half-Blood along with Tyson (Douglas Smith), Percy’s half-brother who is a Cyclops. Their journey takes them to uncharted dangerous seas to recover the Golden Fleece that can save the camp and eventually save their best friend Grover (Jackson) who is half-man/half-goat from a very mean Cyclops, Polyphemus.

With Percy whose powers include control of the waters, Annabeth whose strengths are her wit and warrior skills from her god-mother Athena and Tyson being resistant to fire and possesses powerful strength, the three embark head-on amid raging seas racing against time and battle with other teen demigods to save their world.

The first movie is fun to watch but I guess the studio is still not sure to how will they handle the franchise back then.  It came out half baked in my standards. Probably the reason why they took 3 years before doing a follow up. I hope they can step up on this one.  Because if they fail to please the audience, this could be the end of the franchise.  Which I don't really want to happen.  Greek Mythology will always be a good fantasy material for movies and novels and I will never get tired on seeing them (unless they are down right crappy).

Coming in local theaters August 7, “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters” is from 20thCentury Fox and will be available in 3D and 2D format.
