Robocop Remake Officially Releases Trailer and it is Awesome!!!

And finally Columbia Pictures and MGM releases the first trailer for the remake of the classic sci fi flick Robocop.  I believe haters will shut up now because to say the least, this trailer is far more than what I expect.  Judge it for yourself and watch it after the jump.

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

So what is clear about this new movie is, Robocop has 2 forms: the one inspired by the original design and one they describe as more "tactical".  The movement is smoother than the original robocop but still looks robotic enough but what gives me the chills is the voice. I'm already loving how everything looks and I'm excited to see more.

Fans are you happy now?

Gary Oldman as Dr. Norton, Robocop's creator.  We also got a peak of Murphy's (Joel Kinnaman) fate before he becomes Mechanized.

And we got a cameo of the original design from the classic movie

Now I'm wondering how all the haters will feel after they see this trailer now that they've got what they want. Hitting theaters in February 2014, Robocop will be distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.

UPDATE:

A new poster is revealed.  I know this is the form most fans hate but I'm still hoping that the silver armor will be used more often on the final theatrical release.  Definitely crossing my fingers.
